About ShadeVault Pro

ShadeVault Pro — often just called ShadeVault — is a shared, searchable photo library of real blind, shade and shutter installations. It was built by Kim Dodge to solve a problem every window covering professional has: thousands of job photos and no way to find the one you need.

Why it exists

Everyone in this trade photographs their work. Almost nobody can retrieve it. The arch you covered two summers ago, the skylight with no clearance, the fabric that looked completely different once it was hung — all of it is somewhere in a camera roll and effectively lost. ShadeVault Pro adds the one thing those photos were missing: structure.

How it works

  • Members upload photos of real installs, singly or in batches.
  • Each upload is tagged with blind type, application and room from fixed drop-downs, plus free-text keywords, colour, material and notes.
  • An administrator reviews and can edit every upload before it appears in the shared library.
  • Anyone with an account can search and filter the whole library, and save favourites.

Who it's for

Blind installers, decorators and shop-at-home consultants, retailers and their sales teams, manufacturers and vendors, and homeowners who want to see what a window covering actually looks like before they commit to it.

Rights and moderation

Uploaders confirm that the images are theirs and that they have the right to post them before anything is submitted. Uploads sit in an approval queue until reviewed, and anything can be reported or removed. Brand names elsewhere on this site are used for identification only.
